Canyon of Sant Pons

Located just next to the town of Perles, the canyon of Sant Pons is perfect for those men and women who want to start in the world of canyoning.
The villageof Perles belongs to the municipality of Fígols and Alinyà, at the region of Alt Urgell. Access along the C-14 from La Seu d’Urgell in the direction of Oliana, and take the turnoff to the L-401 before arriving at Coll de Nargó. This small path leads directly to the town, which we will leave the car to start the canyon, a few meters further up, we find a bridge, before reaching the tunnel.

In the gorge we find jumps, rappels, tall walls and spectacular rock formations. The gorge ends with a 15 meter rappel. The return will be from Perlesl River (where we are after the last rappel), following 100 meters long downhill, before reaching a sharp curve to the left, climb a scree that we find on our right and that leads to the road to the village.
 

The length of the gorge is about 30-40 minutes. It is a short canyon but very funny and varied, highly recommended for those who have not ever practiced canyoning and want to take a taste of this adventure sport.
Remember that it is important to always be accompanied by professional guides, just because canyoning requires technical expertise in order to minimize the risks associated with the sport.
